A postpartum doula’s role extends beyond simply caring for baby. Postpartum doulas are trained to support the entire postpartum transition by helping families adjust physically, emotionally, and practically after birth. While nannies and babysitters primarily focus on childcare, postpartum doulas provide recovery support, newborn education, feeding guidance, emotional reassurance, and hands-on support tailored specifically to the early postpartum period.
